(KPL) Almost 50 senior journalists and professionals from different countries have joined an international visitor leadership programme sponsored by the U.S government and scheduled for Nov 26-Dec 15, 2018.
Entitled “Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists: Media Responsibility in an Age of Disinformation”, the programme provides the foreign media practitioners the opportunity to examine media rights and responsibility in democracy; observe operational practices, standards, and institutions of the media in the United States; gain insights into the social, economic, and political structures and explore the impact of digital and social media on news availability and accuracy.
The participants will also exchange points of view on various topics namely the current trends and challenges of the media, new and traditional media, investigative journalism strategies and editorial procedures.
The participants represent Afghanistan, Albania, Cambodia, Columbia, Cyprus, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Mongolia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Palau, Kazakhstan, Hangon, Mali, Greece and South Sudan.
