(KPL) Addressing the 27th World Economic Forum ASEAN held in Hanoi, Vietnam on Sep 12, PM Thongloun Sisoulith raised challenges and opportunities amid era of industry 4.0 revolution that Laos and other ASEAN members are facing as well as the country’s preparation for handling such challenges over years to come.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Prime Minister Thongloun also met with Prime Minister of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe to discuss future bilateral cooperation and attended an informal meeting between world and ASEAN economic leaders.
Prime Minister and his delegation also had a bilateral meeting with Executive Chairman of World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab to exchange points of view on the socio-economic development in the Lao PDR and ASEAN region.
He also joined leaders of Mekong countries in a forum themed “A New Vision for the Mekong Region” to exchange points of view on cooperation on socio-economic development in the Mekong region amid 4.0 revolution.
The World Economic Forum on ASEAN (WEF ASEAN) 2018 officially opened with a plenary session in Hanoi on September 12 under the co-chair of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab, said Vietnam News Agency – VNA.
