The Communist Party of China ended a three-day Central Economic Work Conference in Beijing on Wednesday with a call to continue to develop the economy with “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.”

According to a Xinhua report, the annual meeting, held between Monday and Wednesday, agreed that the party has successfully managed the country’s economic development with a pragmatic manner, a broad vision and complete strategy over the past five years.

During the period, the party has implemented “Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era,” which encourages new developments in China.

For the next three years, the economic meeting called for government departments to be well prepared to prevent and resolve major risks, especially in the financial markets, Xinhua reported.

The Chinese government should push forward supply-side structural reform and manage the relationship of the financial and property markets with the real economy.

The government should be committed to forbidding illegal financial activities and enhancing regulation.

More details about the annual economic meeting are expected to be announced soon.

The Central Economic Work Conference is a high-level meeting usually held at the end of each year to determine the direction of economic development for the following years. Participants include members of the party’s Central Committee and key officials from the State Council.
