The Finance Ministry will issue 7 billion yuan (US$1.06 billion) in treasury bonds in Hong Kong on November 27, the China Securities Journal reported.

The Finance Ministry was allowed to issue a total of 14 billion yuan in government bonds in Hong Kong in 2017. Previously, the ministry issued 7 billion yuan on June 22.

The bonds are being issued for institutional investors, foreign central banks and regional monetary authorities via Hong Kong’s central clearing system.

After the issuance of the bonds, they will be listed and traded on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
